Today, a new snare design we have been working on. The grain is horizontal and vertical with maple bands. Our theory is, horizontal grain pattern helps with the consistency on the edge while keeping the original vertical look. We are able to get the shells much thinner with this method. The maple and pine combined gives a very nice warm tone. Three different snare sounds in one. We will post sound samples soon What do you think drummers?? #picoftheday #heartpine #drummer #drums #outlawdrum #outlawdrums #wood

FYI.. Who don’t know. These heart pine beaters each contain about 50 years of growth rings, meaning the wood is extremely dense, throwing more mass toward the bass drum than other wood bass drum beaters.
Three different striking edges for three distinct tones. Either side provides the deepest tone, with the entire edge of the beater coming in contact with the bass drum head. The flattened front end has been cut at a precise 3.75 degree angle to hit flat against the head in most set-ups, giving you extreme definition (perfect for fast double-kick work). The rounded back end provides a perfect middle ground between the two, giving you rich bass with a defined click.#drum #basedrum #beater #woodenbeater #hammer #outlawdrums
